“The Village of McBride hosted the first-ever Robson Valley Community and Economic Development Forum at The Dunster Schoolhouse in September 2023.

The venue is well suited to a small conference with a large meeting space and several break-out rooms as well as attractive outdoor space for casual meetings and lunch. The Society catered for the event, the food was delicious and budget-friendly. Yann ensured that each room was furnished with everything we needed, including wifi and was present throughout the day to answer questions and provide additional support.

We would highly recommend this welcoming, attractive and full-service space for meetings, conferences and events.”  Economic Development Officer, Village of McBride – Karen Dube

“As a venue, the Schoolhouse was the perfect place for us to host our 3 day circle dance weekend on August 25-27, 2023.

We had 36 dancers from Western Canada, including many local dancers who thrived and danced in the beautiful space around The Dunster Schoolhouse.  The large gymnasium was perfect for dancing indoors, and the expansive grounds surrounding the school were perfect for outdoor dancing.  We had many campers, RV trailers and indoor camping in a very private setting.  The kitchen served us well for all of our big potluck meals, while the bathrooms and shower covered all our needs.  The costs of the Schoolhouse made this nonprofit event very affordable.

Our participants were unanimous in agreeing to use this venue again for dancing weekends and highly recommend it for a variety of events.”  Lead Organizer of the Robson Valley Circle Dance Group – Debby Ladoucer

“I live near Valemount, BC but have enjoyed coming to events and organizing events in the Dunster Schoolhouse. This past spring, I facilitated a two-day Mask Making Workshop at the schoolhouse.  The classroom and outside tables served our purpose well.  I also participated in the Wellness Fair.  The school was a great facility for this event.

A few years ago, I was part of the Mu North organizing team that conducted a Grandmother’s Healing Haka training weekend at the school.  The leaders and participants loved the gym and the use of the kitchen. I can express nothing but praise for the versatility of the Dunster Schoolhouse as a site to conduct community events.

Congratulations to your board and the volunteers in your community for keeping this facility going and ongoing renovations.  The school is looking so good—a real asset.” –  Sharon Anderson
