REEL YOUTH FILM CAMP!!

The Dunster Schoolhouse is thrilled to present this exciting opportunity for the youth of the Robson Valley this summer!

July 15 – July 19th @ THE DUNSTER SCHOOLHOUSE

Ages 12 -19 years old. Space is very limited, register early!

Sliding scale $50- $100 per youth.

Email dunsterfass@gmail.com or call 250 569 7762 for more info.

This 5 day youth film camp is an opportunity for young people ages 12 – 19 years old to produce and distribute short films about the issues they care about most. It is a journey into the process of creative collaboration and an opportunity for youth to speak up about the changes they want to see in their lives, their community, and the world. Reel Youth is a media empowerment project based in Vancouver,  that delivers community development programming to youth and adults across Canada and internationally. Film production and distribution programs are designed to create positive change in young people’s lives through technical skill building, leadership training, creative collaboration with peers and mentors, and increased connection to community resources.

Participants learn:
– How to tell an engaging story about something important to them
– The technical side of film making including camera use, lighting, sound, &
editing
– How to work as a team to produce a film in a short period of time.

Youth leave the workshop confident in their filmmaking skills, excited about the film they created and empowered to share their creation with the community.  Films are entered into film festivals across Canada and the world

THE ROBSON VALLEY MUSIC SOCIETY & THE DUNSTER SCHOOLHOUSE PRESENT:

RECKLESS BURNING LIVE @ THE SCHOOLHOUSE

Reckless Burning is a band rooted in a rare alchemy: five distinct and celebrated musicians and songwriters joining forces and drawing inspiration from the stolen, unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh in Northern British Columbia. Driven by an impassioned commitment to social justice, this group uses music as both an outlet and an antidote to the wild horrors plaguing the world. Each dedicated to their own craft, together they create and share songs filled with beauty, pain, politics, and love. Refusing to be defined, labeled, or directed, these friends make music that makes sense of the times.

FRIDAY, MARCH 14th/2025

$25 in advance via e-transfer to dunsterfass@gmail.com. $30 @ the door

Doors @ 7:00pm    Show @ 7:30pm
